eBay’s plans for promoting Fashion Outlets

No primary category set

eBay are launching a multi-channel press and PR campaign to promote the new Fashion Outlet with the message “The clothes you love, direct from the brands you love”.

The campaign will initially run from the 3rd May to the 30th June and will include outdoor adverts, online adverts and email marketing as well as social media and the traditional press.

The ads will focus on “popular and aspirational high street clothing brands and retailers” who sell through the eBay Outlet and focus on the discounts available for new clothing and fashion accessories.

The main aim of the campaign is to reach shoppers who are passionate about brands and bargains but who might not always consider eBay as a place to shop, attract them with brands they are familiar with and tempt them with prices at up to 70% discounts.

If eBay can attract new buyers to the site and once they start buying from the Outlets tempt them to make purchases from the main eBay site that can only be a good thing. If it merely diverts existing buyers from existing eBay businesses to the Outlets that’s not so good. Time will tell and it should be an interesting campaign.

  1. Are they going to get some “popular and aspirational high street clothing brands and retailers” on board? Can’t really see many there yet LOL.
