Facebook make changes to fan pages

No primary category set

facebookIf you’ve built a fan page for your business (or anything else) on Facebook, you may notice some changes happening this week. Facebook has announced that boxes and the Boxes tab will be disappearing, and that page width will now be limited to 520 pixels.

If you’ve built custom tabs on your page, you can now get a preview of how it will look in the new narrower width. As far as I can see, cutting the content off on the right seems to be the standard way to deal with pages that used the old maximum width of 755 pixels. There’s no way around this except to redesign your page to fit into a 520 px width.

Practical Ecommerce has a great article on the changes and what they’ll mean for page owners and developers.
