For those that enter tracking numbers into eBay using a scanner there’s been a small but welcome change to the bulk tracking entry form.
Previously if you could enter tracking numbers in bulk by typing them in, but if you scanned your tracking bar codes the page would refresh after each scan due to the escape character all scanners use by default. (An escape character is like pressing the return key, which is useful when scanning into a spreadsheet as it moves the mouse cursor to the next cell. However on the tracking form it had the effect of clicking the submit button).
eBay have now changed the form so that the escape character no longer causes the page to refresh allowing tracking numbers to be scanned faster with no delay caused by page refreshes. After each scan there’s simply a welcoming beep and you can go ahead and scan the next tracking number immediately.
This glitch has annoyed me ever since tracking numbers were introduced on eBay! Great to see a minor annoyance being fixed.

a major annoyance fixed and the best news we have had since the cat died
I actually thought there was something wrong with the tracking form today, as it wasn’t refreshing & I had to click submit & check the first 100 had been accepted before continuing.
I does make the whole job much faster without the reload
YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS !!!!!!
I’m so sick of having to press the escape key on the keyboard each time I scan a tracking code in.
It’s funny how they fix things like this which I’ve hardly seen mentioned, yet messages and loads of other things on eBay are still a mess.
While we are on bugs that eBay finally fixed, the underlying issue that caused https://tamebaynew.wpengine.com/2010/08/used-on-ebay-uk-is-like-new-on-ebay-com.html has been resolved. All listings will be fixed upon revision, list, or GTC renewal. Basically no listing should have that problem after April 17th.
