eBay have put out an announcement which is worth posting in full:
We would like to let Sellers know that we are aware that some items that have been paid through PayPal are not being correctly updated as paid in My eBay and that old/purchased site emails are also not being received.
This issue has been escalated to our highest priority level in recent days and aff_link("https://www2.ebay.com/aw/uk/201109081219372.html","we have found the cause of the issue","","UK"); ?> and measures are already underway to resolve it. We are also looking at ways to recover the transactions that are impacted.
Please accept our apologies for the disruption and ongoing inconvenience caused by the problem. We will update this post with any further news as it becomes available.
Regards,
The eBay Team
The issue appears to have risen over the weekend on Sunday when there was a glitch to the normal operation of the site which locked sellers out of eBay and Selling Manager.
There appears to be some good news for sellers using third party applications. I’ve heard from a couple of sellers that sales data collected via the eBay API by third party programs is picking up the missing sales. In the meantime regardless of how you normally collect your sales we’d strongly suggest that for the next few days you cross check your PayPal account to your eBay sales to ensure you don’t miss sold items.

Nice !!!
“Couldn’t – organise – booze up – off licence” springs to mind.
It would be better if the eBay anouncement could actually have made sense.
Just what does this bit mean?
‘ …. and that old/purchased site emails are also not being received …. ‘?
In plain English please!
Is this the issue that eBay’s Patrick Munden said was fully resolved 3 days ago?
why dont they just make one response to everything and save us all lots of time,
something along the lines of this is ebay its our ball and our rules
If you dont like it tough sod off elsewhere
eBays comms have vastly improved, from 5 years ago. 5 yrs ago we would not hear about it. Sometimes with more news comes more complaints, but for me, I am more than happy to know that there is a problem, and importantly that it has been fixed. I commend the ebay team for good communications.
Makes a change to read compliments, but we should say thanks when due…
@John P,
‘Makes a change to read compliments’
Errr. the only compliments seem to be yours. So if I didn’t know better I might have thought that you work for eBay.
It took 4 days to make any announcement or to even acknowledge multi corroborated concerns on the PSB.
You call that good from a market leading multi national?
I call it abuse by a de facto monoploy.
lets be honest who checks the announcement board with any regularity there is rarely any meaningful info
Why didnt they acknowledge the problem as soon as it became apparent?
Im just glad we use Channel Advisor rather than rely on EBAYs systems
We had this flagged to us by one of our customers as they were asking if they had paid for an order, order no where to be seen by both us and the buyer, lucky for us we use Linnworks and have an API to the backend of ebay so that had picked up the order and we had even shipped it also, thank god we have a decent back office and warehouse managment system.
I arrived back home from holidays after clearing the previous weeks sales before leaving, to find 3 sales from September 4th and 5th. Needless to say i was perplexed until i called our account manager and had the misfortune of one buyer opening an item not received case.
