Around two hours ago social networking site Twitter fell over, so badly that not only did their “Fail Whale” site error image fail, but the message letting people know the site had failed had broken code.
At about 4.30pm Twitter posted on their status site saying “Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue”.
Not quite as useful is the message on the twitter home page which read “Twitter is currently down for <%= reason %>”
Twitter started to recover at around 6.15pm this evening
