Mark Lewis, who will be known to many of you as the MD of delivery firm Collect+, is on the move. It has been reported in Retail Week that he has been appointed as the new head of online for retailer John Lewis.
People with longer memories may also recall that Mark had a 6 year career at eBay. He began as head of Seller Activation, before becoming head of eBay UK and then eBay Europe. Prior to eBay he worked in advertising and headed campaigns for HSBC, HM Treasury and Teletext. He has a first class Maths degree from Cambridge and an MBA from INSEAD.
Andy Street, MD of John Lewis has said of Mark’s appointment: “Mark is ideally placed to continue the growth and development of our online business. He brings insight and experience of the retail sector and will be driving further innovation across both our website and omnichannel offer.” (Omnichannel? Are we saying that now? – Ed.)
Clearly congratulations are in order for Mark and we look forward to hearing more about how John Lewis will continue to prosper in the wrold of ecommerce.
