eBay raise shops subs for Private Sellers

No primary category set

eBay Shops FeateBay are bumping the price to rent a shop from £14.99 to £19.99 per month for private sellers. The 33% increase in price is they say to bring the shop subscription fees into line with the fees that business sellers will be paying. The price change will come into effect from June.

Another change is to billing, Shop subscriptions are now billed for at least one full calendar month. Any Shop cancellation will take effect from the beginning of the following calendar month. This means that eBay will no longer refund a partial credit if you cancel your Shop subscription mid-month.

eBay will however be adding 20 free fixed price, 30 day or Good ‘Til Cancelled listings per month to each Basic Shop subscription. The current private seller insertion fee for a fixed price listing is 20p, so the real price increase for private sellers will only be £1.00 per month.

  1. I’ve closed my ebay shop, it worked fine for me at £4.99 a month but £20 a month is too much even with some “free” listings. I should have closed it when it went from £4.99 to £14.99 and this latest increase is just too much as I really don’t sell that much these days and I just don’t have time to list/sell more. I liked it for a few features like using my own logo, it’s just not worth it now. Having said that I closed the shop at the end of March and sold just as much in April but made more profit as my fees were less. I was wondering why I’ve hardly sold anything in May – I’m no longer getting emails when my listings end and didn’t realise I only had about 6 listings current. Yes I should have realised but I have a lot of other things to cope with.
This week, I’ve found I’m not even getting emails when I sell something _ what the heck is going on?
