Royal Mail “We love parcels” TV advert

No primary category set

With the fantastic news that Royal Mail will not be hit by a CWU strike this Monday, Royal Mail have released their first TV advert for six years.

The adverts celebrate the role Royal Mail’s people play in delivering 1 billion parcels a year and features a version of‘ The Beatles’ classic song ‘All You Need Is Love’ sung by the Royal Mail Choir.

You may have seen the full advert during Saturday night’s X Factor on ITV and the actors in the advert are all real Royal Mail employees. More than 2,500 of 132,000 Royal Mail workers invited applied and 25 were selected to appear in the ad after auditioning in front of a judging panel of film producers and directors.

A special Christmas version of the advert, which despite the snowy scenes was filmed on location in the UK in July, will air later this month.

  1. So a cigarette lighter weighing less than 100g costs £4.10 to post recorded (recorded is not optional when selling on eBay)?

    No wonder they love “parcels”!!!

  2. What a load of rubbish, or even blatant lies!
The advert shows a toaster that fits into the new box size.

Guess what ? It must be a very small toaster cos my ordinary two slice version wouldn’t even fit in the box without protective packing!

  3. I disagree with that piece of propaganda on so many different levels.

Royal Mail say they deliver one billion parcels a year (which I doubt). How many are actually sent? 2 billion?

I have no doubt that they love parcels. They love mine so much they’ve decided to keep every single one of them.

  4. In defence of Royal Mail. There is no one cheaper to send small items with and having used PPI on a daily basis for around 17 months now – we have had a total of zero items go missing in the post. I hope that doesn’t ruin this perfect record by making that statement – but we use Royal Mail because no one can do it cheaper.

Personally I think it is great value for the service we get and sometimes you have to accept change as everything around us is changing.

  5. I am also a fan of Royal Mail, they do manage to lose some of my parcels, but they are mainly fast and efficient .Since they changed their small parcel too 160mm they are now the cheapest, so I am very happy. Not so happy with Ebay charging 10% of the postage fee for doing absolutely nothing though! 🙁

  6. .
Perhaps they should stop singing and actually deliver the parcels we send….

1x non recorded to 1 address disappeared

1x Recorded replacement to same address disappeared

A nice big NEG from buyer, no contact from them and RM, loose another packet….

    Just a pathetic shambles.
