Designed to support the continuation of the spectacular growth of the company the new £14 million hub has a capacity of around 550,000 parcels a day – almost three times that of Hermes’ previous site in Warrington – and has created 60 new jobs. It is the largest single investment by Hermes in its history, and signifies the company’s commitment to growth and service.
The facility will help with the developing requirement for next day deliveries and will play a key role in plans for international expansion. Moving forward the facility will also provide a platform for further innovation, as the company looks to introduce a host of new and exciting products to the market. Perhaps most importantly it will help Hermes ensure that its customers can continue to have full confidence in future years’ peak periods in terms of capacity and service.
myHermes are increasingly becoming a popular delivery option for online sellers, with the proliferation of Parcelshops which both increase the speed of delivery and lower cost it’s an attractive option both for retailers and consumers. It’s great to see the continued investment and we wish all the guys well in their new facility.
