I’ve just run across bagth.is from Faab Social, a new way to sell directly from your social media update.
First off I’d like to say I’ve seen a lot of social media selling solutions and none of them seem to have caught on with buyers. It doesn’t matter how great your Facebook shop is if no one actually buys from it. Faab Social however is different with a one click purchase and I can see the opportunities.
The idea is that your social media followers (or anyone that sees your feed) can make a purchase with a single click on a bagth.is URL. Seemlessly in the background stock is checked and if the inventory of the product is still available the buyer is taken directly to a PayPal payments page, with price and product information automatically inserted, to login and complete the payment.
Of course Faab Social won’t work if all you do is spam your social media with product ads and nothing else. However suppose you’re a sports retailer – if you put out an offer for an England shirt this evening at 8pm, just as England kick off against Uruguay, there’s a good chance you’ll sell a load. Timely topical offers will definitely work well.
Faab Social could be ideal for all types of retailers – From pizza companies with a “Two for Tuesday” deal, to an event manager trying to sell their unsold tickets at last minute, not forgetting regular ecommerce retailers. Almost any business could find deals that would appeal to their followers.
Faab says “Bagth.is”
So the nitty gritty, PayPal is the chosen payment vehicle, a single product feed and inventory feed is all its required from you the retailer. Currently Faab Social is integrated with Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Google+, Pinterest and Instagram are coming soon. Full analytics including how many people clicked on the Bagth.is link, How many made purchase etc. If you want to add shipping charge as an extra to the product Feed price then that can be customised too.
Faab Social comes from the same guys that run Faab Multi-Channel and have been assisting ecommerce merchants since 1997. If you want to find out more about Faab Social and bagth.is you can contact them on +44 (0) 1924 521 521 or email [email protected]
