Rakuten.co.uk are kicking their marketing into top gear tonight to celebrate the launch of their new marketplace and Halloween at the same time.
If you’re in London this evening pop down to Southbank (Bernie Spain Gardens, SE1 9PP) where they’ll be launching the Rakuten Superbag, a quarter of a million pound giveaway.
If you’ve got children we hear that they’ll be well catered for, as well as Trick & treating, there’ll also be free film screenings of Disney’s Maleficent courtesy of Rakuten owned streaming TV company Wuaki.tv, as well as a ton of interactive stuff they can get to play with.
It’s great to see Rakuten kicking off some high profile events. Whilst Play.com was well known in the UK, Rakuten is unknown to most consumers. Visitors to Play.com are already being pointed to Rakuten, but they’ll need more than existing Play.com customers to make Rakuten.co.uk a success.
Halloween on London’s Southbank is a great start for Rakuten’s marketing and if you can’t make it tonight don’t worry… the fun will be going on all weekend so if you’re in London you can visit them on Saturday or Sunday and take the kids along too!
If you do get to visit drop us an email at Tamebay and let us know your first impressions of Rakuten and their Superbag event.

Rakutin or waiki don’t exactly roll off the tongue do they. I call closure within 12 months.
