Integrating parcel management with channel management

NetDespatch indigoNetDespatch has helped Indigo Herbs of Glastonbury to speed up their order processing and despatch procedures. The implementation of a cost-free web-based solution seamlessly integrates with the company’s ecommerce system, XSellco. The solution has eliminated input errors and expedited overall order fulfilment.

Glastonbury based Indigo Herbs processes around 40,000 orders a year, supplying more than 450 different natural health ingredients to wholesale and retail outlets throughout the UK and overseas. The NetDespatch parcel data management platform provides the link between the Indigo Herbs’ ecommerce system, XSellco, and their carrier, Royal Mail. It automatically prints the new Royal Mail 2D 6×4″ barcoded address labels using information from the Xsellco order details.

XSellco featThe integration with XSellco has really improved their despatch process, and is saving them a great deal of time at the end of each day according to Milo Mansell, ecommerce Coordinator at Indigo Herbs. That’s especially so with the recently launched new website and NetDespatch’s solution in place to help cope with extra volume and move the business forward.

In the past, incomplete or slightly incorrect addresses were often a problem, but the new system allows more address details to be printed. The new larger labels were implemented last month, and Milo was surprised at how easy the changeover was, plus the new labels look much more professional.

Indigo Herbs Managing Director Stephen McKewon points out that as well as picking up orders placed via the company’s own ecommerce website, NetDespatch also processes those obtained through eBay and Amazon. “Royal Mail collects from us every day and the NetDespatch solution makes everything simpler, as it not only produces the documentation we need to hand to the Royal Mail driver, but it also posts daily totals automatically to our Royal Mail Online Billing Account”.

NetDespatchNetDespatch works closely with postal and parcel carriers, and provides a cost-free shipping solution for their customers through an easy to use secure web-based platform that automates the connection between order processing, despatch and delivery, even if the orders are received in one location and despatched from another. There are no costs involved for retailers for installation, training or support, and the system is available instantly online.

  1. It must be said that every eCommerce man and his dog can print barcoded Royal Mail labels and interface with the OBA, but having worked on Netdespatch integrations through their web portal & their Velocity software in the past it does seem that Netdespatch’s method of integration is better than many. They have been able to make the migration over the new 2D barcode system before a lot of their competitors as well.
