Mirakl to target North American retailers

French online marketplace vendor, Mirakl, have opened a US office in Boston and appointed co-founder Adrien Nussenbaum as their US CEO. They have also announced that Kamal Kirpalani will be vice president and general manager of North America, who brings more than 15 years’ experience in business development for enterprise software.

The growth of the company’s executive team and U.S. headquarters is a direct result of the rising demand from North American retail customers, such as Best Buy Canada, who want a secure and highly profitable online marketplace solution. Mirakl sees online marketplaces as the future of e-commerce, and through its unique model, helps retailers worldwide expand their product catalogue without inventory and logistics costs and restraints.

Major U.S. online retailers to date have shied away from their own online marketplaces, and instead have ceded both that platform and all of the revenue that goes with it to Amazon”, said Adrien. “Throughout Europe, major retailers such as GAME, Galeries Lafayette, Darty and El Corte Ingles are leveraging Mirakl’s Marketplace Platform to deliver marketplaces that significantly increase online revenue without managing increased inventory. North America is catching on, and our pipeline is full of major online retailers that do not want to let Amazon have all their marketplace dollars”.
