It looks like crafts and vintage marketplace Etsy has had some problems disbursing payments owed to sellers in the past few days.
Non-US sellers experienced a delay last week and on Friday payments due to US sellers were not made as expected. They will, according to comments from Etsy, be paid today.
Bill Massie, Engineering Director with the Payments team at Etsy said:
“As you know, we didn’t send out the US disbursements that were scheduled for Friday. There was an issue with the computer job, called a “cron”, that sends these out. We are still investigating the underlying issue, but it is not related to the issue that affected international disbursements earlier in the week. That issue was specific to our international accounts and has been fixed. International disbursements went out as normal on Friday.
Unfortunately we won’t be able to send the US disbursements that were scheduled for Friday until Monday. The US ACH system only transfers money between banks on banking days so Monday will be our next opportunity.
You do not need to do anything on your end. We will disburse all available US funds on Monday. If you had disbursements scheduled for Friday, we will update your Shop Payment Account to indicate that they will now be scheduled for Monday.
I sincerely apologize for this. I know you depend on us to handle your funds accurately and consistently. That trust is important to us and we are doing everything we can to fix this issue and to understand what happened so we can be sure it doesn’t happen again.”
