Despatches: Undercover with couriers 8pm 1/2/16

No primary category set

If you’re bored next Monday evening, than you could do worse than watch Despatches on Channel 4 at 8pm, which promises to go undercover to investigate Britain’s biggest independent parcel delivery company.

Those with a fairly short memory will recall the last time Channel 4 went undercover with couriers when they examined Royal Mail’s postal competition. Whist there was a certain amount of parcel throwing, kicking and general abuse, it’s worth remembering that when you’re shifting anything up to a million parcels a night in a single depot there really isn’t time for the kid glove treatment.

Don’t rely on a fragile sticker to protect your parcel, even if it is handled gently, there is every chance it will end up at the bottom of a trailer with thousands of other parcels piled on top of it. Pack for the inevitable rough handling, don’t expect miracles and if you do want a miracle pay for a same day door to door courier.

  1. There’s a difference between throwing and missing.

If this is myhermes I think they are well okay and I’m pleased with the service.
