Click & Collect at Halfords on eBay

No primary category set

We always knew when eBay announced their Click and Collect partnership with Argos that they would eventually allow other large retailers to set up collections at their own stores and it’s happening on eBay.

There is of course little advantage in setting up click and collect locations if you only have one store or a couple of shops in a locality. Sure it’s good for local customers but on a site like eBay most of your customers aren’t going to be local – attracting a national or even international audiences is after all the whole point of ecommerce.

halfords-ebay-click-and-collectHalfords are a company with a national chain of stores so it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that they’re offering . The only thing that might cause an eyebrow to be raised is of course that Halfords are actually a direct competitor to eBay, albeit in a very small way. Halfords opened their own Halfords Marketplace in 2015 and we hear from retailers selling on Halfords that it’s a pretty vibrant and successful niche marketplace.

Would you offer click and collect from your own physical premises if it was available or do you prefer to simply offer the service through eBay’s preferred partner Argos?
