Disruption to Greek postal services

There is currently disruption to the Greek postal service. This is because of a two day strike that was held by the Greek Seamen’s Federation from 06.00 on Friday 2nd December 2016 until 06.00 on Sunday 4th December 2016.

The strike has now been extended and it means that no ships are setting sale sail from ports around the country. In particular, this is causing delays in forwarding mail to and from the islands of Greece. It is also disrupting mail from Greece to the rest of Europe that goes through Italy.

So, if you’re worried about a delayed despatch to Greece, this could be the source of the problem.

For reference, the affected post codes are:
18010-18050, 18900-18903, 28080-28301, 29090-29100, 31080-31100, 34000-34600, 37002-37005, 49080-49100, 64002-64010, 70001-74100 and 80100-85900.
