RateSetter and accountants TaxAssist Accountants have formed a partnership to help UK SMEs access loans and finance.

TaxAssist Accountants provide accountancy services and advice to small businesses through 290 outlets across the UK. In future they will refer businesses requiring working capital or finance to RateSetter who say that loan applications will be processed and an answer given within 48 hours.

Paul Marston of RateSetter says: “TaxAssist Accountants is in a unique position to provide small businesses with the sound advice they need to establish their financial requirements and to navigate their way around the crowded business finance sector. The relationship they have with their clients is based on understanding and trust and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership based on those values which we have in common.”

There’s no doubt that many SMEs, especially those operating online businesses, find it difficult to access affordable loans, and even overdrafts from the bank for use on a day to day basis, not least because a lot of traditional lenders don’t understand the nature of digital and ecommerce. So any partnership that might assist marketplace sellers is welcome.

And don’t forget that there are plenty of specialist lenders honed to small business operating online out there. You can find them in the Tamebay Guide.
