There’s an interesting announcement from eBay for Irish sellers – if you want to sell to buyers in 30 European countries then instead of listing on eBay.ie you should list on eBay.com!
The announcement centres around a new Home and Garden landing page on eBay.com, and these listings will be visible to buyers from European countries, in their native currencies. All you need to do is list on eBay.com and add postage details to any country you wish to sell to.
The bizarre thing about this, is that it means you have to be willing and able to also ship to the US as your listings will be on eBay.com. For many home and garden items this will open up some interesting conundrums as US and EU regulations and standards are quite different.
Of course it won’t make any difference if you’re selling a garden trowel, but anything with an electrical plug will cause obvious issues. If you’re taking advantage of selling to Europe by selling in America, make sure you specify which products are suitable for which countries.
