Meet the company: CYNC

No primary category set

Choosing a fulfilment company is never an easy choice, but talking to Cync it’s obvious that they really understand the requirements of marketplaces, not least of which because their Head of Customer and Fulfilment Operations, Debbie Catterick, used to work for a large eBay PowerSeller so knows how important eBay’s On-Time delivery metric and Feedback and DSRs are.

I spoke to the CYNC team and several things stand out; as well as understanding what marketplace sellers need, they also specialise in the type of product that most fulfilment houses walk away from. If you’ve got oversized ‘ugly’ freight, CYNC may be the perfect partner for you.

What does CYNC do?

E-commerce fulfilment, but we can offer more than just a fulfilment service. CYNC have trusted partners to offer website design, listing management and translation support to help our customers grow in a demanding market. With our courier partnerships we can dispatch all orders the same day before 7pm.

We work in partnership with both SME’s and high street brands to deliver a complete e-commerce fulfilment service or offer supporting capacity to existing in-house operations. Through deployment of the very latest warehouse management technology, CYNC integrates with all sales platforms to handle the full process from receipt of order to tracking to the doorstep. Not only that, being a division of the Sunline Group, CYNC can offer additional services including inventory management, data management, marketing and insert and mailing campaigns.

Why would I use CYNC instead of a competitor?

Created entirely as a fulfilment centre rather than an evolving warehouse, we have invested heavily in technology, delivering a failsafe barcode scanning process mated to a real time, cloud-based order and warehouse management system, delivering total transparency to its customers. This means that we can offer without question 100% pick accuracy, 100% inventory accuracy and the same dispatch time for people selling a sofa or a biro.

Our team used to manage the in-house fulfilment of an online power seller (now one of our clients) meaning we understand the implications of poor fulfilment.

We offer our customers SLA’s that matter, such as a Three-Hour Confirmed Goods In, Same day dispatch on all orders before 7pm, Returns handling within 48 hours of receipt, 100% Pick Accuracy and the guarantee that 25% of the inventory is counted on a weekly basis to protect its integrity and avoid the issue of oversell and overstock.

What does your ideal customer look like?

Our ideal customer is an online retailer who has either grown out of their current fulfilment space or who an online retailer who does not want to manage the fulfilment themselves. We are looking for customers who will consider our service as more of a partnership and are will to work with us.

CYNC is well placed to serve all types of customers, from SME’s selling low volume, small scale goods, to large blue chip clients with a requirement to receive, store and despatch oversized goods. CYNC’s warehouse facilities provide small pick faces but also high level pallet racking systems to deliver the same service regardless of product size.

What types of product do you specialise in?

We are probably one of, if not the only, fulfilment centre to have a real love for the oversize / ugly freight. The stuff most places turn away from (or price unrealistically) is the stuff we love. We have a dedicated site in our warehouse for oversize freight with racking designed to house the overhang and the over height products, meaning we can remain competitive on price.

We have invested a considerable amount of time and money in the development of software which allows us to dispatch oversize product at the point of pick, this reduces handling and as such damages but also means that your customer can have a dispatch notification on a 150Kg treadmill in under a minute.

The remainder of the warehouse lends itself perfectly to tote size product and with three different picking process on our custom software as long as it has a barcode we can handle it quickly and accurately.

Which carriers and services do you offer?

We offer clients two choices, firstly to integrate with their carriers directly or to allow them access to our carrier rates.

We offer a full spectrum of carriers, depending on the needs of each individual client: Royal Mail, UK Mail, Yodel, DX and Panther. The latter two supply ‘standing trailers’ on site, collecting during the night to allow continual despatch throughout any given day, right up to 7pm.

Our system allows clients to utilise intelligent shipping options, automating carrier selections based on location, cost, source etc.

Which platforms do you support?

With an in House IT Department there isn’t anything we can’t integrate with. If your selling channel or order management system has an API then we integrate directly to it, if it doesn’t then through FTP and data exchange we can automate a work around.

CYNC is already integrates with client websites, Magento, Groupon, eBay, Amazon and Linnworks, to name just a few.

Our software is of course cloud based so whether you continue to work with your existing Order management System, or you let ours speak directly to your selling channels, you have 24/7 access to all information surrounding your selling activity.

What else would you like to tell Tamebay’s readers?

CYNC is not a warehouse, it’s a fulfilment company. Everything CYNC does is built around the e-commerce marketplace so it delivers a dedicated service focussed solely on building a trusted, state of the art go-to partner for e-commerce organisations, of all varieties.
