Amazon Seller Central and Vendor central experience technical difficulties today

No primary category set

We’ve heard from several readers today saying that they have been experiencing difficulties when accessing the all important selling aspects, including Seller Central, on Amazon today.

This morning Seller Central was down for users but that was restored, apparently, at about 2pm. Vendor Central was also unavailable for a period with sellers reporting, at time of writing, that it is still currently unavailable.

Obviously this is a significant inconvenience because sellers will be impaired when dealing with their sales and inventory.

We are unclear on the scale of the problem, whether it was universal of global. As ever we’d be grateful if you’re an Amazon seller and have more insights or information.

  1. On Abebooks, we almost no sales all weekend because of the problems there (a bad weekend would still be well over a thousand sales). But I’m not seen the Seller Central problem on Amazon and I’ve been on it all day.

  2. Complete pain in the butt – inventory was down from about 7:30am until just after 2pm – no ability to see anything in inventory – which we assume will also mean stock qty changes from multi channel software will also not have been able to upload – so fingers crossed no oversells in the meantime

  3. yes a real problem to access details to send out product.

The main problems resulting from this is that customers will not get their products on time and we as Amazon customers will loose points because we did not dispatch on time.
This is because the Amazon Computers will not recognize the fault lies with Amazon just penalize us for late shipping

  4. They are useless in many ways. I have an inventory with items for sale that only differ in colour and size the description and weights are exactly the same and they are all on the same shipping template. Yet 75% are stating £1.99 shipping which is correct and the others are all ranging from £1.52 to £1.72 with lost of them in between. I rang Amazon and have had absolutely no joy in them resolving this and that was 3 weeks ago i got passed from pillar to post and no-one had a clue what to do now i get weekly emails saying sorry we are still investigating this issue.

What a complete mess. they do not even understand their own shipping pricing structure so what chance have i got.

  5. inventory was down from about 7:00 am until around 5 p m. No ability to list but I was able to access MF sales. I should say SALE as only one sale on Monday so I guess many buyers affected as well.
As a added note I find that customer HELP reps (never English) are much less informed these days. They always have to refer queries to the “relevant department” Today I just got resolution for a query I raised in March querying why a small paperback book I wanted to send FBA was “too big for any UK warehouse to stock” They said it weighed 600 pounds in weight & refused to believe me (over months of sending photos etc ) until I shouted at them.
