The Christmas eBay TV Advert campaign launches today, encouraging shoppers to “celebrate Christmas like nobody else”. It’s a continuation of their #FillYourCartWithColour encouraging shoppers to ditch “beige”, conformist Christmas behaviours and shop in style.
It’s a fast packed, action filled advert full of everything from a surfing Santa to a tea drinking snowboarder as well as parties, decorations, toys, gifts and food – just about everything you could ever want from Christmas.
The integrated campaign kicks off in the UK with new 40 and 30 second eBay TV Adverts this weekend (Saturday 4th November) across ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. The adverts establish the narrative that eBay is the destination to shop to put your unique stamp on Christmas – from gifting, partying, decorating, to entertaining.
Christmas eBay TV Advert
“’Beige’ behaviours are a global epidemic when it comes to Christmas – whether it’s generic decorations, Christmas day rituals or the gifts we give. Through this campaign we’re inviting people to shop more personally on eBay to find the right items at the right price, that will enable them to make their Christmas different to the rest”
– Gareth Jones, eBay’s Senior Director of Marketing
Radio, cinema, digital etc
eBay’s Christmas campaign will also come to life across radio, cinema, digital and will feature on London’s iconic and newly restored, Piccadilly lights ultra-HD digital billboard screens, in addition to on 200 London buses and static bus stops.
eBay TV Advert 30 second version
There are a least two shorter 30 second versions of the Christmas eBay TV ad with a more highly targeted message focused on a particular product vertical which eBay are well known for:
Beauty and Cosmetics
Featuring professional model, Bishamber Das, this version is all about beauty, cosmetics, clothes and accessories to get ready for the Christmas party season.
Home and Christmas decorations
Interior Stylist, Sarah Akwisombe, takes you through buying on eBay to decorate your home in this celebration of Christmas decorations and gift wrap. Although personally I’m no sure about the pink Christmas tree, others will love it!

I quite like the style of these new adverts and the music builds quite dramitically! Will hopefully shift some more sales my way!
These ads are an embarrassment. Fill your cart with stuff to buy but pay for each item individually & pay postage on every item from the same seller. Doesn’t behave like any other normal functioning shopping cart on the web.
Shop on ebay and experience the 12 glitches of Christmas!
On my first day of shopping on ebay my computer said to me…. sorry your request can’t be completed today..
On the second day of shopping on ebay my UK parcel was actually 8,000 miles away
On the third day of shopping on ebay, i simply couldn’t pay!
You get the drfit…..!
I swear i actually pity my customers sometimes, because if they experience half the issues us sellers do then its an incredibly poor show.
