German online supermarket MyEnso lets customers decide

No primary category set

Online supermarket and marketplace MyEnso canvasses its customers on every decision it makes, or at least that’s their claimed USP and aim. They hope to develop a more intuitive and efficient marketplace that concentrates on customers with this collaborative approach.

Apparently every MyEnso line must be examined and approved by customers before it is available for purchase. Co-founder Norbert Hegmann says of his strategy: “Everything is designed for maximum customer orientation.”

MyEnso was founded in Bremen, Germany and they are remaining close to home in their initial test phase and old people’s homes are their core focus. In May 2017, the first trials took place with the Convivo Group there. MyEnso supplied retirement homes with supermarket products and now over 45 retirement homes have signed up with the online marketplace. At the end of this year, they expect to serve about 70 retirement homes and their 8,000 residents in Bremen, Hannover and Hamburg. Fifteen more cities are planned for expansion over the course of 2018.

A dedicated warehouse of over 100,000 square metres is also on the cards in association with BLG Logistics and Grenzebach Maschinen to serve the burgeoning company and its customers. Groceries and supermarkets are a critical battleground for ecommerce and they are approaching it in a whole new way. Will it work?
