There are no subscriptions or monthly payments, your first 5000 listings are free, and commissions on sales are flat at 12%. All sellers have access to the services of a dedicated category manager and merchandiser. They also offer exposure opportunities on a variety of marketing and merchandising channels, such as home page and category page features, and segmented email blasts. An enhanced product listing (A+ content optimisation) is available for $60 USD per SKU.
Product listings and fulfilment
It’s vital to craft good listings and UPC/GTIN codes are required. It’s also up to you to ensure that your listings and content is optimized. That means honing and curating things like title, description and the product images.
You can fulfil orders yourself or the marketplace can help you out and do it for you if you put your stock in their warehouses. Tracking is required as standard. The NISP (Newegg International Shipping Program) provides sellers an easy way to sell globally without the complications of international shipping. Once an international order has been received, seller will ship the order to a local warehouse and they take care of the rest, rather like eBay’s Global Shipping Programme.
And don’t forget Newegg Global which is a cross-border selling programme designed to make it simple for you to sell products to new customers from around the world. Qualified sellers can list their products across more than 50 countries.
Tamebay’s take on Newegg
Newegg has been around quite some years but only now is it becoming well known in the UK and developing a name big enough to make it a contender. One of the most useful aspects of Newegg is the opportunity it provides to trade in the USA with fewer barriers. One key feature of Newegg is that it acts as the “merchant of record”, which means that you will have no liability regarding US sales tax.
If you have you any experience selling on this marketplace, please do share your insights.
