To support SMEs exporting to four high volume countries, Royal Mail is launching an online-only pricing promotion for International Tracked parcels being sent to France, Spain, Germany and the Republic of Ireland. The promotion is available to those who have an account with Royal Mail and customers can be set up with the promotional code by calling their sales adviser. Alternatively customers can access and pay for these services with their credit or debit card.
There is no minimum volume required to access the price promotion and it is only available through online Click & Drop. Once the label has been generated, parcels can be dropped off at Post Office branches, any of Royal Mail’s customer service points or via a usual business collection.
Click & Drop is Royal Mail’s new online tool for buying postage and can be used by both businesses and consumers. It’s a replacement for Despatch Manager Online (DMO), although calling it a replacement is not doing Click & Drop justice as it’s packed with new tools, services and integrations to make online seller’s lives easier. If you’re a Royal Mail Online Business Account (OBA) user then again you can simply switch to using Click & Drop. You’ll simply enter your OBA account number and posting location when you sign up to the new service.
Parcels can be sent from 100g to 2kg and specific prices can be found on royalmail.com/price-finder from 28th March. You can also find more International Tracked pricing promotion information on the promotion landing page. The promotion will run from 28th March until 30th June 2018.
This is an interesting promotion as it marks the first time that Royal Mail have offered country specific pricing as opposed to zonal pricing covering the whole of Europe. If the promotion works and they see an uptick in traffic we’re hoping to see more of the same in the future. Whilst the savings may not on the face of it look massive at first glance, if you’re shipping significant volumes then it’s going to make a real difference to your bottom line over the three months that the pricing promotion runs.

Oh Ambassador, with your discount of the thick end of nothing you’re really spoiling us.
Wow huge savings,,,, I might be able to afford yesterday’s newspaper with the money saved. Royal Mail need to get real,,,, all our postage is now courier based,,,,, enough said.
Why not show ALL EU countries and not just a few?
is there any decent alternatives out there for large letter sizes, and a few parcels for international with signed? I know a few countries with Hermes are not so bad, but just wondered if there were any viable alternatives for SMEs? I think perhaps not as the volume sending isn’t there. Thanks in advance for any pointers
Click and drop I find for me is great
All information is downloaded automatically alleviating the need previously and laboriously to enter everything manually.
This is one reason historically I didn’t use it.
Now 75% of my sales are to overseas owing to EBAYS GSP 30% of my orders are with click and drop.
No waiting about in ques or for receipts.
Love it
Massive savings there… Anyway, RM here needs to get up to modern requirements their customers have…
Happens I posted ~700g small parcel to Germany last week. Price paid (by customer) £18 and that included an insurance for £100 and was delivered in 2 days (door to door)! No registration required. Parcel collected by courier from our premises. Meanwhile RM asking similar money for delivery “from 3 days”…..
If you have a Royal Mail account, then you will probably have or can get the following codes:
MP1 INTL BUS PARCELS TRACKED ZONE SORT
MP5 INTL BUS PARCELS SIGNED ZONE SORT
MTA INTL BUS PARCELS TRACKED SIGNED ZONE SRT
Today, for a 500 gramme, including surcharge and VAT they come in at:
MP1 £9.76
MP5 £9.64
MTA £10.38
And that’s for all EU Countries.
As Simon has mentioned – here at eTail-USA we provide a specialist tracked to USA for a little as £2.99 per parcel.
Delivery times are 4-5 working days and “final mile” is USPS.
There are no minimum volume requirements to use our service. Tracking numbers are issued same day as address/order file submitted and can be auto-imported to Linnworks/AfterShip and other systems.
ALL our customers are UK based online merchants selling at US marketplaces such as Amazon/eBay etc.
We only ship to USA (and Canada).
