Just five weeks from today the sixth annual Ecommerce Cup will be taking place and by the end of the evening we’ll know which team has been crowned the 2018 Ecommerce Cup champions. Put the date in your diary – the 21st of June 2018.
Team places are filling up fast, so if you want to play then register your team as quickly as possible to avoid mission out. Last year we were over subscribed and although we’ve made space for more teams this year it looks like once again we’ll be fully booked.
This year, teams from just about every sector of the ecommerce world have entered including: marketplaces; multichannel solution providers; retailers; parcel carriers; web designers and payment solutions. This year our tournament sponsors are Bid On This and JH.
The Ecommerce Cup is a networking event like no other as some of the most senior players in ecommerce will be present, either playing or cheering on their team. Sadly, Rob Hattrell, VP of eBay UK was due to play but while getting some training in with his kids he bust his knee and was hospitalised (literally!). Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Rob but please don’t put your kids down to play for eBay instead of you – they sound dangerous!
We are spreading the matches over more hours then in previous years to give teams a breather between stints on the pitch. Matches will commence at 14.30pm and we expect to be able to present the eventual tournament winners with the coveted ecommerce trophy around 8pm that evening.
Matches will take place at Play Football in Shepherds Bush and we’ve reserved the entire venue so anyone you speak to will be from the ecommerce industry.
Naturally Tamebay, InternetRetailing and eDelivery editors will be there throughout the event taking pictures and we’ll be publishing the results once the matches end. We’ll be wanting team pictures of everyone that’s playing so make sure we don’t miss your company and we will also have a film crew recording the event to share online.
