David Hallam, Managing Director of OrderWiseA lot can happen in a year and since we last wrote about OrderWise they’ve gone from strength to strength. They provide an all-in-one modular software solution, that can be scaled as your business grows. Offering integration to websites, marketplaces and other online channels, OrderWise have announced exciting plans to build out even more new features in the future.

With a new Store EPOS system, CRM, eCommerce platform and Business Intelligence tools, OrderWise are bridging the gap between online and offline trading and they are about to invest heavily in Robotic Mobile Fulfilment Systems for warehouses.

With so much happening, we spoke to David Hallam, Managing Director of OrderWise to tell us more:

Who are OrderWise?

We offer an all-in-one Business Management Software system, designed to give multi-channel retailers everything they need to effectively handle all their daily processes from one single solution. It is a modular, scalable software system, allowing companies to adjust their solution as they grow. We provide everything to manage integration with websites, marketplaces and other online channels, including listing management and automatic repricing tools. However we don’t stop there, as we also deliver the back-end stock control, accounts, warehouse and order management solution that helps you to meet online order demand and fulfil customer expectations.

With nearly 30 years’ experience and more than 15,000 users across a huge range of industries, sizes and sectors, we have an exceptional understanding of ecommerce businesses, the challenges they face and the most effective way to operate. This means we provide much more than just the software, we provide guidance and advice on operations and processes that helps to transform the way companies work.

What do OrderWise offer?

Our solution is fully integrated, so the main benefit is the everyday cost-savings and increased efficiency companies can experience through the better accuracy and more streamlined processes that our software drives. On the front-end, OrderWise can automate online trading by linking with web shops and marketplaces for sales order imports, stock level and price syncs, product listings and despatch exports with courier tracking details. This helps online retailers to avoid the pitfalls of overselling and eliminate unnecessary administration, whilst also driving good customer service.

OrderWise also enables companies to efficiently manage their marketplace listings for eBay, Amazon and Google Shopping from a single interface, with an Amazon repricing tool to help customers maximise sales by landing in the Buy Box more frequently. With our software offering links to over 40 different popular courier providers, companies can eliminate the manual rekeying of delivery details into courier platforms, ensuring fast, accurate order fulfilment is achieved. Using our Delivery Rules functionality, businesses can also remove the pain of manually selecting delivery couriers and allow OrderWise to automatically choose the most cost-effective selection every time based on factors such as delivery country, weight or volume.

What has OrderWise achieved in the last 12 Months?

Orderwise supportFollowing our £1.3 million expansion here at OrderWise in 2017, the past 12 months have been very busy with the business continuing to grow to just over 200 employees, all of whom specialise in the OrderWise software. Through our award-winning training, we ensure each of our staff have the correct knowledge and expertise to deliver a truly remarkable service to all our clients.

The success of our product has led to record growth, with increasing demand from different types of businesses. In 2017/18, we sold over 130 new software systems to businesses across the UK and Ireland. The success has also seen an increase in turnover in the last year rising from £7.4 million to £9.6 million, which will allow further investment back into our business management software.

The last 12 months has also been another great year of award success for OrderWise, having been widely recognised for excellence within the software industry at local, regional and national level.

Orderwise Family Business of the Year AwardAt regional level, we topped off an exciting 2017 by being named Family Business of the Year at the Midlands Family Business Awards. We also had a successful evening at the 2018 Lincolnshire Technology & Innovation Awards, beating a high level of competition to be awarded the 2018 Business of the Year. Not only that I was awarded Business Person of the Year for the second year running, after also winning this title at the Lincolnshire Media Business Awards at the back end of 2017.

On the national stage, we were delighted to find out that OrderWise was named as one of the Multi-Channel Solutions of the Year for 2018, as part of the prestigious Retail Systems awards. This award recognised OrderWise for the numerous accuracy and efficiency benefits our software delivers to our client’s multi-channel operations.

What is new in the OrderWise software?

Here at OrderWise we never stop developing and looking for new ways to improve business operations through better integration. We release a new version of the software every single month and in the last year, we have added more than 650 items of development within our software. For the modern day online trader, engaging consumers across multiple platforms and different mediums is key to maximising sales opportunities through online sales channels. Through the introduction of our new Store EPOS system, CRM, ecommerce platform and Business Intelligence tools, we deliver to our customers a seamlessly integrated suite of functionality that enables this to be achieved.

An integrated OrderWise eCommerce Website automatically synchronises information back to the comprehensive main OrderWise software, meaning users have a simple, stress-free solution for trading with their clients online at any time. Due to the seamless integration to all other business operations, OrderWise eCommerce Websites ensure that overselling is eliminated as stock levels are automatically updated as goods are sold through other sales channels. So whether you are trading through a single channel or multiple websites, marketplaces, sales reps and bricks-and-mortar stores, OrderWise’s seamless front-to-back end integration ensures each platform displays accurate data at all times.

The development of our Store EPOS system in the last year has also further bridged the gap between online and offline trading for our users, allowing clients trading through physical stores to have these fully integrated to all their online sales channels too. This also drives better cross-platform engagement as it allows OrderWise users to offer consumer services such as click & collect, order in-store to be delivered to their home address or earn loyalty points in store to then spend online. Then on the other side, integrating Marketing, CRM & Business Intelligence tools with online trading channels also allows staff to further maximise sales. This is because they can quickly see who they should be targeting with marketing campaigns, which customers need chasing, where additional cross-selling opportunities may lie and how further sales can be generated to help exceed targets.

All this functionality we have introduced to our software in the last year, added to the advantage of reduced costs due to businesses using a single system from one single supplier, means OrderWise users can benefit from a true all-in-one multi and omnichannel solution. By having all business operations under one roof, OrderWise clients are benefitting from faster processing that helps build customer service, drive repeat custom and push growth targets to be achieved.

What’s still to come from OrderWise?

Always looking to the future, the vision for OrderWise into the next decade is to further the company’s grip on cutting-edge technology. As well as further modules in the short term, our long-term plan is to invest time, money and resources into robotics technology. As the modern warehouse changes, so must the nature of OrderWise.

Orderwise Warehouse AutomationShelf-moving robots look set to be an integral part of OrderWise in years to come, making companies more lean and efficient Over the next 12 months, OrderWise will invest over £1.2 million in Robotic Mobile Fulfilment Systems (RMFS), with numerous clients already signed up to pilot this new technology once it has been developed. This investment comes from research that found 70% of warehouse picking time is spent walking between bins. By developing robotic technology that will allow stock to be brought to pickers instead for single touch fulfilment, OrderWise customers trading across multiple sales channels will be able to benefit from even faster despatch at a much lower cost. 1. The very first thing I want to know (and suspect many others will be the same) is ‘how much is it going to cost?’ but the ‘transparent pricing’ isn’t transparent at all, it’s hidden behind a ‘request a price’ button.

So I’ll download a brochure methinks, but no, you want loads of details just for this.

    Glorified clickbait IMO.
