eBay in partnership with PayPoint have been announced as the winners of the “Best Domestic or International Delivery Options” award for eBay Click & Collect at MetaPack’s Delivery Excellence Awards 2019 presented at TDC Global this week.
Voted on by over 100 industry leaders, PayPoint and eBay won the award for the eBay Click & Collect initiative which saw the Collect+ network – that PayPoint owns and operates at over 7,000 convenience stores – opened up to eBay buyers and sellers in the UK. By partnering with PayPoint, eBay offers its customers the option to choose to collect products from over 2,500 Collect+ stores.
“It’s a great achievement to have our partnership with PayPoint recognised through the receiving of a Delivery Excellence Award. It’s important that we’re able to offer this delivery method to each of our 25 million eBay UK customers a month and it’s brilliant to see it go from strength to strength.”
– Rob Hattrell, Vice President, eBay UK
Sellers often complain about how eBay changes can adversely impact their businesses, but eBay Click & Collect is one of the truly outstanding innovations which has brought big multi-store retailer advantages to SME traders and single location retailers. It’s democratised click and collect in the same way that eBay originally democratised retail and has opened up local collection points for consumers across the country.
“This award is a great achievement for all involved and we are thrilled that the eBay Click & Collect solution has been recognised via a prestigious industry accolade. The full roll-out to 2,500 stores was completed in the space of just four weeks and since then we have seen rapid adoption of the eBay Click & Collect service across our Collect+ network. Winning this award is an important milestone for our open-carrier parcel solution.”
