Royal Mail delivery services to Iran are set to be re-introduced after Tehran threatened to sue the company, according to Tehran Times.
Last week, Royal Mail issued a statement in which they said that posting parcels to Iran have been discontinued. They have said that this is due to Washington’s sanctions against Tehran.
Iran’s ambassador to London, Hamid Baeidinejad said in a Tweet on the 12th April that Royal Mail’s move “shocked” the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He also promised to seek immediate rectification of the supplier’s decision.
Tamebay checked today if Royal Mail have re-introduced the postal services to Iran. Royal Mail’s guide to sending items to Iran said that “due to operational issues, we are currently unable to deliver to Iran.” Royal Mail said that they’re working “on solutions to this as quickly as possible.” It remains to be seen when the supplier will re-establish their services to Iran.

About a month ago Royal Mail received our parcel, gave us a receipt and told us our parcel will be delivered to Iran in 6 days. The parcel is still at Heathrow (according to Royal Mail costumer service) and God knows when it will be sent. They say they cannot send our parcel back. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. It’s obviously thievery. Please be our voice.
