Amazon Germany are making up 27% of Germany’s total ecommerce revenue, according to the leaked data from Amazon sellers.

According to Ecommerce News, Amazon Germany have unintentionally revealed the marketplace’s sales via an email send to their merchants yesterday. The email’s insights point to the total turnover of Amazon.de.

The email disclosed the information that was previously kept secret. It said that Amazon.de generated gross revenue of about €10.25 billion. Citing the success of Amazon US, it described Amazon.com as the largest marketplace in the world – “50% of Amazon’s revenue is generated on Amazon.com and Amazon.com generates revenue that’s seven times as big as it does on Amazon.de, with just half as many merchants.”

This news show that Amazon Germany produce less revenue than many German ecommerce experts anticipated. It was previously forecasted that Amazon.de generate sales worth of more than €18 billion, while Carpathia estimated the worth of about €14.5 billion.
