Etsy have announced the scheduled introduction of a country-specific marketing tool which will aim to personalise offers based on the buyers’ location.
Etsy will introduce enhanced sales and coupons service in August. Its new functionality will enable sellers to set a country-specific sale.
The marketplace attributes the launch to the increased demand amongst merchants to grow their businesses abroad.
Sellers who want to expand into new territory would often find that shoppers’ demands vary on where they come from. However, a tailored experience is a universal prerequisite for customer satisfaction. It stands at the heart of customers’ expectations. The challenge is to know the specifics of customer wants and needs in each territory, a merchant aims to conquer.
Etsy say that sellers will be able to create a customer-centric strategy for overseas shoppers, incorporating their differences influenced by culture, language and trends.
Etsy say that they will “continue to invest in the success of [their] international markets.” In the coming months, sellers will see increased marketing efforts across many channels, all aimed at bringing more buyers from sellers’ countries to Etsy.
