Airlines have had the worst few months in history with planes grounded and the entire world’s population reluctant to travel. Now in an attempt to reassure passengers and get people flying again, Emirates are offering free Coronavirus funeral cover to everyone that boards one of their planes.
Book your flights with Emirates and you’ll automatically receive free global cover for COVID-19 related costs. The cover is valid for 31 days from the moment you take your first flight, and it covers you even if you travel onwards to another city. There are no forms to fill in, just a help line number if you need to claim and the only country you won’t be covered in is your country of residence when you return home.
Once you’ve flown with Emirates and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 while you are abroad, you will benefit from repatriation assistance, assistance with medical and hospital costs and assistance with quarantine accommodation costs in an approved designated facility. This includes up to €150,000 medical costs, and €100 a day for two weeks hotel accommodation if you have to quarantine.
Plus, should the worst happen then Emirates, who’s tag line is ‘Fly Better’, have included ‘Die Better’ cover and their Coronavirus funeral cover will pick up the actual cost to repatriate your body plus €1,500 towards your funeral costs.
Many businesses are having to go to extraordinary lengths to survive the pandemic and perhaps none more so than the airlines. Differentiating your service and at a time when traditional travel insurers all have waivers to refuse coronavirus cover, Emirates have come up with an offer that is much needed if you do have to fly. Whether this will scare potential travellers off entirely or reassure them and get them booking flights is yet to be seen.
