Born out of Covid-19 lockdown, A new online marketplace, heyplants.co.uk has launched to support local and independent sellers of plants.
“HeyPlants is an online marketplace connecting garden enthusiasts with local sellers, garden centres and nurseries. Simply search for a plant and we’ll show you nearby stores with that plant in stock. Have a favourite store or seller? No problemo! You can also browse products within a specific store. The choice is yours! We’ll then deliver your new plant direct to your door.”
In June research released by Visa found that despite over half of consumers cutting back on non-essentials, home decor stayed at the top of many online shopping lists and over 36% of brits were buying DIY essentials, plants, furniture or home furnishings during the lockdown. It’s no surprise that consumers are trying to brighten up their living spaces and add some living, breathing, oxygen enhancing plantation to their lives. Now, HeyPlants can satisfy consumer demand for plants whilst providing sellers with a specialized platform to do so.
“A by-product of working from home and being indoors means people are looking at ways to enhance their living space. It’s really reinvigorated interest in gardening and indoor plants. A survey of our social media audience found that people had purchased an average of 25 plants since lockdown started. The appetite is huge!”
According to their press release, the immediate focus is currently within London but HeyPlants is planning to expand its list of sellers nationally in the coming months. Anyone interested in selling on the platform is encouraged to apply through their website and sellers who are approved can list up to 25 products for free every month with a 20% commission paid to HeyPlants.
