It Looks like early reports were correct as Walmart announce their new membership program Walmart+ which aims to ‘bring together in-store and online benefits to save customers money and time like no other retailer can’

Walmart+ aims to make life easier for busy families by offering efficient services, money-saving benefits such as fuel discounts and free delivery. Walmart boasts a reach of more than 4,700 stores, including 2,700 stores that offer delivery as fast as same day. Membership will be available to all customers on September 15th and will cost $98 a year or $12.95 a month and includes a 15-day free trial period. Could Walmart+ hurt Amazon Prime?

Well, 150 million people are enjoying the benefits of Prime which cost the US citizen $119 a year. Many benefits that come from the online marketplace subscription service, Walmart cannot compete with. Amazon Prime includes Unlimited same-day and 2-day shipping on over 100 million items that qualify, Amazon also offer 2-hour delivery slots on grocery deliveries on top of this Prime members also get Prime Video and Music.

So what if people who use Amazon Prime use it because it gives them options, Could those using Prime enjoy doing their big shops, grocery shops, last minute or emergency shops, can’t get to the shops shop, also with the added benefit of discounts and then still venture out to superstores like Walmart for top up shops when things are running low. Then when they get home they can stream unlimited movies, TV shows, and Amazon original films and shows or listen to any of 2 million songs on Prime Music.
