Today we feature Kasia from NEMI Teas as part of our eBay for Change video diary series. NEMI Teas is the second organisation we are hearing from that’s part of the ecommerce start-up side of the programme where eBay has partnered with UnLtd.
NEMI Teas are a specialist London-based tea company that offers a variety of tea blends both as loose-tea and teabags. All their teabags are plastic-free, packaging is biodegradable and the teas are Organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest-Alliance certified.
As well as their envrionmentally friendly credentials, Nemi Teas provide employment to refugees to give them local work experience and job readiness skills to enter the UK workforce and help them integrate into broader society. It’s hard enough being a refugee in a strange new country without having to get a job with no work experience. Welcoming newcomers to the UK, this is a company where they can get experience and someone to vouch for them when they go on to get a job later down the line.
Watch the video below to hear Kasia talk about the business’ social impact and you’ll soon see her enthusiasm both for the ethical delicious teas that they sell as well as their work helping people into full time employment.
