eBay for Change video diary: Madlug

No primary category set

Our fourth eBay for Change video diary features Dave Linton, founder of Madlug.

Madlug (a member of Social Enterprise UK) supports children in care in the UK and Ireland through sale of its award-winning bags. Madlug stands for ‘Make a Difference Luggage’ and it operates a ‘buy one, give one model’, meaning that with every Madlug bag purchased, a pack-away travel bag is given to a child in care so that they do not have to carry their belongings in plastic bags.

Yes you did read that correctly, when children in the care system have to move home, at best they might be given an old bag by their carer but often the only thing they have to move their few clothes and possessions in is a black rubbish sack. Madlug aim to give dignity to these vulnerable children and having already donate 25,000 bags they’re aiming to up this number to 45,000 by the end of the summer.

Each pack-away bag has a label that says “You are incredible” to remind every child that they have value, worth and dignity. Watch Dave’s video to hear more about Madlug’s amazing work and check out their products on the eBay for Change hub now.

If you are going hiking and want a back pack, are going on a short weekend break, or looking for school bags for your own children, take a look at the bags on offer from Madlug and know that your purchase will help another child.

Madlug is part of the eBay for Change side programme, you can watch other video diaries here.

As well as making a purchase from Madlug, you can browse many other items from eBay for Change businesses on the eBay for Change hub.
