There are a couple of personalisation on eBay UK updates that sellers will appreciate including an expansion of categories and updated returns policy.
Personalisation on eBay UK updates include new categories such as Food & Drink, Sporting Goods and Seasonal Decorations. This means you can now choose from almost 600 categories to add the Personalisation option to your items.
You’ll also see some changes to the eBay returns policy for Personalised items. Remorse returns are no longer accepted for personalised items as these items are made to order. The eBay returns section on listings has been updated to reflect this.
The options to offer personalised listings is really easy – you simply:
- Add the “Personalise” item specific to your relevant listings
- Provide personalisation instructions for your customers
- Turn on the “message to seller” option
Customers can then add their personalised text on the View Item page of your listings in certain categories, which will then be sent to you using the “message to seller” option.
Increased search visibility
Customers can filter for personalised listings when they search for items so using the personalisation on eBay UK feature gives your items significantly more chance that your listing will be found.
As an example, if you search for ‘Trophy’ on eBay, 21k listings offer personalisation on eBay UK, 5.8k don’t but a massive 123.5k haven’t specified whether they do or not – or rather by not adding the Personalisation Item Specific they’ve opted out by default. This alone should be enough to convince you to edit your listings as soon as possible to ensure customers find your products when they want to customise them.
