Dharmesh Mehta, Vice President, Selling Partner Services at Amazon, was in the UK this week and exclusively sat down with ChannelX to reveal the latest statistics on the marketplace.
Headline news, there are now 100k UK small and medium sized businesses selling in Amazon’s UK store. That’s grown 15% over the past year.
Amazon will publish their latest Small Medium Business Impact Report soon, which will reveal:
- In the UK more than 100,000 small and medium businesses sell on Amazon
- In 2022, independent sellers in the UK had sales of more than 950 million products – that equates to an average of 1,800 products sold on Amazon every minute.
- Amazon offers a wide range of new and improved tools, programs, and services to help independent sellers get to the next level, and have seen a 15 percent increase in the number of UK small businesses selling on Amazon’s store.
Dharmesh also touched on Amazon’s billions of dollars annual investment to provide entrepreneurs with the most effective set of tools and resources to help them quickly launch in the Amazon store, rapidly scale and reach more customers, and build their brands. UK small and medium-sized businesses spent over 18,000 hours in trainings on our Amazon Seller University over the past year, where Amazon provide a host of valuable information and tools for sellers looking to build and grow their businesses with Amazon.
