SnapChap My AI - 10bn messages from 150m people SnapChat My AI Sponsored Links with Microsoft Advertising

SnapChat My AI was rolled out to Snapchatters globally with new features in April this year. Snapchatters are using My AI for things like party planning tips, restaurant recommendations, or sports news. Over 150 million people have sent over 10 billion messages to My AI, making My AI among the most widely used consumer chatbots available.

Snap were always planning on ways to insert use commercially-oriented content into conversations with My AI, opening up new channels for brands and retailers to advertise on the platform and they’ve started with a partnership with Microsoft Advertising to power Sponsored Links within Snapchat My AI.

Powered by Microsoft’s Advertising’s Ads for Chat API, Sponsored Links connect the Snapchat community with partners relevant to their conversation, while helping partners reach Snapchatters at the moment they have indicated potential interest in their offering.

This is really interesting, as if you hit the consumer with an ad directly relevant to their My AI conversation it is a massively powerful experience. That’s what Snapchat’s My AI Sponsored Links have the potential to offer brands and retailers. It’s currently available in the U.S., but bound to launch in new territories, although perhaps with different advertising partners.

Microsoft Advertising’s clients in the U.S. and select markets can now engage with Snapchatters through My AI to seamlessly deliver links that are relevant to the conversation. We remain in an early experimental phase to ensure we design thoughtful, useful experiences for our community, and are actively working with a variety of partners to enhance My AI – for both our community and our business – over the coming months.
