The Pinterest UK sales team is getting a boost this summer, with hires from Amazon Ads and Meta joining recently appointed UK MD Beth Horn, who joined Pinterest from Spotify. Caroline Orange-Northey as Director, Retail Sales, and Naureen Mohammed as Director, CPG Sales.
518 million people around the world come to Pinterest each month to search, save, and shop the best ideas in the world for all of life’s moments. Pinterest has a growing, passionate user base across the UK and there is an opportunity for brands to connect with this audience when they’re considering what to do or buy. In the last year, clicks and saves of shoppable Pins in the UK increased by 75%.
Businesses can engage with customers who are planning what to buy next with 83% of weekly Pinners saying they made a purchase based on content they saw from brands on Pinterest.
These two appointments to the Pinterest UK sales team bolster the companies renewed focus on shopping on the platform and show encouraging signs that, out of all the social media platforms, Pinterest is fast becoming the forerunner to at last roll out robust ecommerce strategies and focus on bottom of the funnel activities.
