Following on from the discovery eBay forgot that Good Friday and Easter Monday are Bank Holidays in the UK, they’ve undertaken to reinstate them on delivery estimates. The oversight will be corrected in maintenance tonight and eBay have also undertaken to protect sellers’ feedback should it be impacted.
eBay Statement on Easter Delivery Estimates
“We understand any problem with eBay is frustrating and appreciate the patience of our sellers whilst we resolve this issue.
The eBay system will be undergoing maintenance to correct this issue from approximately 9pm BST on 31st March to 2am BST 1st April. During this maintenance period, certain eBay site features may be intermittently unavailable or slow and we apologise in advance if any inconvenience is incurred.
We expect corrected estimated delivery dates to be displayed on listings from 2am onwards.
Any defects for ‘item not received’ requests, low detailed seller ratings (DSRs) and/or negative/neutral feedback that we determine was a result of this issue will be removed weekly using an automated process, in line with the .
In this particular case, there is no requirement for the seller to have sent the item using a tracked service.

Too Little, Too Late,
even 48hr courier is showing delivery on Friday & 3 day courier delivery on Monday which is what the customer will expect from us & any Neg’s will be treated as Buyers opinion, unless the delivery issue is sounding out by the buyer.
Easter is a yearly event & somewhat more of a one to plan for, as all the couriers are basically off for 4 days [rather than 2 days at Xmas] & eBay still haven’t learnt when Easter is held.

Great expectations but no solution.
Listings still promising both normal and express delivery options for Good Friday.

there are not actually many things that work as it should on ebay 100% of the time.
some things can even take years to be fixed.
Ebay are still promising my customers that their items will be delivered on Monday.
Why am I not surprised that the fix did not work.
Actually if you read the PS board, Hannah from eBay is stressing that it wasn’t an oversight, eBay didn’t forget Easter, but that it was a technical issue.
Sadly, eBay and technical issues are something that go hand in hand, usually to the detriment of sellers.
How can a multi million pound business forget things like this. And then blame technical issues – what a crock of &*(%^.
I bet anyone that tries to get a possible neg or neutral removed will have to wait for hours to get through and then be told as Toby says above, it’s the buyers opinion.
Thank goodness we are ending selling on ebay…..
