Amazon Business launches in the UK (Sign up to sell today)

Amazon have launched Amazon Business in the UK. Having already launched in the US and Germany, UK businesses can now sign up to make online purchases in a similar manner to consumers.

In the first 12 months Amazon Business has generated over $1 billion in sales, served more than 400,000 businesses and continues to grow 20% each month in the US. There are already more than 30,000 Amazon Business Sellers in the US.

You can expect to see everything from computers and tech to basic office supplies, chemicals and tools – just about anything a business might want to buy online will be available, either from Amazon, or from their third party business sellers.

Businesses will be able to control their purchasing with spending limits and there will be free delivery on orders above £30. Businesses will also see VAT-free pricing to better understand what product costs will be. When placing orders, business will be able to include PO numbers and can add multiple users with different spending limits & purchase approval workflows. Amazon will also provide Business Analytics to help companies understand their spend.

  1. Hmmm this could be good for buying supplies etc from 3rd party sellers, as they would have to actually provide you with a proper VAT invoice

  2. I’ve signed up as a buyer but does anyone know how I can opt out? As a buyer it isn’t as good as they give the buy box to prime seller who is a business seller, and not the cheapest prime member, in fact they don’t even list other prime members so you actually end up paying more, not saving as promoted.
