Gaming, gardening and bidets in demand on eBay.com

No primary category set

Consumers in the US are washing more than just their hands according to eBay’s list of in demand items. The marketplace have announced that among gaming gadgets, hobbyist must-haves, and gardening supplies consumers have been buying bidets.

eBay’s Jordan Sweetnam has offered some interesting insights into what is currently trending on the website during these unusual times and shows the wide variety of items consumers are after despite their obvious restraints. The data presented shows how consumers are adjusting their shopping behaviours since COVID-19 and hopefully provides useful information for some sellers.

“I wanted to share updated insights around what is trending right now with our buyers. The below selling guides were designed to showcase some surprising trends, and serve as a reminder that people want a wide variety of items, conditions and price points. We hope this will be both interesting and useful to know what’s in demand with eBay shoppers right now, whether new or pre-owned.”

One Response

  1. We are looking at EBAY’s comments around 1Q and 2Q trajectory and wondering how much of the surge in spend is one-off in nature. How many times does one order dumbells, bidets or webcams, and how many of these things are needed.

Would love any seller feedback on whether those buyers (eBay showed v little growth in active buyers) are continuing to spend, or just were scrambling for any supply they could find in the market.
