Has Skype found a buyer?

TechCrunch are reporting that eBay may have found a buyer for Skype. A group of venture capitalists and private equity firms are said “by a source close to the deal”, to be combining resources to make a bid for the company. eBay are supposed to have set the price tag at around $2billion.

eBay President John Donahoe had previously said that Skype would be floated as an independent company at some unspecified time “depending on market conditions”, after earlier rumours that Skype’s founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis were trying to buy the company back.
