Alibaba, long term rival to eBay, is starting to muscle in on their territory down under. At the annual PESA Australia conference Alibaba is named as a Silver Sponsor alongside eBay and PayPal who are Platinum Sponsors.
Alibaba have recently made moves to accept PayPal on their AliExpress wholesale marketplace so it won’t be the first time the two companies have met. It will however be the first time many eBay sellers have had the opportunity to meet with Alibaba.

I’d be very afraid of Alibaba.
They are a huge Chinese site.
Alibaba and the Forty Thieves ?
“Alibaba and the Forty Thieves?”
Alibaba have, how shall I put this, a LOUSY REPUTATION. you ONLY HAVE TO GO INTO FORUMS & THERE ARE TALES OF DODGY SELLERS, COUNTERFIT GOODS…..THE LIST JUST GOES ON & ON.
But from eBays’ point, I suppose, ‘better the devil you know, etc’.
I
alibaba is rife with fake goods. Any brand name you search is fake from nike to rolex to colgate to coca cola to gillette.
Many sellers are also people who only take payment by western union. I’ll say no more…..
Other than don’t be tempted, you will be conned, or you may find customs will keep your goods as they are counterfeit, even if you were expecting genuine merchandise, it won’t be.
Alibaba have just bought Vendio !
