There’s yet another free auction listing weekend for private sellers coming up. On the 4th and 5th June private sellers can list for free on eBay UK.
The normal rules apply, you must be a UK registered private seller who are not lowered in search, and business tools such as Turbolister are banned. To take advantage of the promotion you need to use the Sell Your Item form or the iPhone app.
There is also a limit of 100 items during the promotion weekend. Anyone that lists more than 100 items will then pay normal fees and items listed with start prices between £0.01 and £0.99 will have the total counted towards their normal 100 free listings per month limit.
There’s one error in the promotion (which has been copied over from the last promotion). “After the promotion period, you will be charged the standard Insertion Fee of £0.5 for media items and £0.10 for all items with a starting price of between £0.01 and £0.99“. Media items do of course have an insertion fee of £0.05, not 50p!

I think that eBay are to be congratulted on that little extra:
‘There is also a limit of 100 items during the promotion weekend’
Should lead to an improvement in the average quality of the listings.
Hi, where can I find the official announcement? Cheers MR
🙂 Thank you 🙂
If they are going to have a limit of 100 free listings why have a ban on the use of listing tools?
Ebay have changed the terms & removed the upper limit of 100 listings…..So the site will be flooded as usual.
Thought it might be too good to be true, would have been a great idea though.
So for listings with a start price in excess of £1 there is no limit of 100 this weekend and an unlimited number of free listings can posted?
Free it is worth checking the terms and conditions if you fall below e bay minimum standards like i have and have not had any negative feedback sold almost 400 items last year, with only 1 problem of a missing item in the post that was tracked through royal mail.It is generally worth looking at the total cost of listing an item and looking at the final valuation fees as well as pay pal fees, had I looked at these more carfully in the first place i would have thrown lots of items Isold into the bin and would have been a lot better off financially
