Today it’s the turn of Zavvi to hold a one day flash sale of up to 85% off consumer electronics and games. Highly publicised it’s taken over the eBay home page with the prime offers being a Nintendo Wii bundled with Wii Sports, Wii Resort and Just Dance 3 for £119.99 (36% off RRP 190.00) and a PS3 Slim console bundle for £234.99 (22% off RRP £99.99).
Whilst they do have some great deals most are no where near the “up to 85% off”. However if as eBay keep telling us it’s good to attract buyers with these great deals I guess it’s good for the site as a whole. However it would be nice to see an independent retailer getting this sort of exposure instead of it always being the large household names.
Check out the and let us know what you think of the Halloween green themed Christmas promotion.

I have clicked on “See all deals” and I am struggling to find the “85% off” item. Typical hype marketing and very wrong of ebay to go along with this. There is a credibility gap and is this what eBay want?
eBay should insist that a minimum of say 20% of the items on the main viewing page are clearly marked as being “85% off” before signing off such a promotion.
A designer laptop bag comes close and of course we all want one of these don’t we!
eBay seems to be favouring towards the large household names and using dsr restrictions and business seller fees to kill off the smaller businesses.
