Free insertion fees for private sellers for auctions yet again this weekend. And yes, before you ask I was tempted just to cut and paste the last free listing day post again because it’s almost every weekend now that private sellers can list for free.
This time around it’s on the 12th or 13th November. As usual you can’t use professional listings tools such as TurboLister but you can use the mobile apps to list if you wish.
Sellers can also re-list unsold items so I guess some sellers will simply press the relist button on everything that didn’t sell last time flooding the site with a goodly array of good to end in a week or ten days time.

Looking at the dates of the Free Listing Weekends surely its every other weekend rather than every weekend. It appears that as most of the auctions last 10 days that as soon as they finish the following weekend is a Free Listing Weekend and many of them are back on again.
Once again there is the silly limit of 100 items. The Private Sellers, especially at this time of year, are raising funds from their Sales to pay for their purchases for Christmas. By limiting the number of sales ebay is limiting the amounts of monies that the Private Sellers have in their Paypal Accounts and so limiting how much they can buy from Professional Traders and of course limiting the fees paid to ebay and Paypal.
Perhaps the next such Free Listing Weekend due 26/27 November should be Unlimited numbe4r of Listings so to maximise the Sales all round(and ebay and Paypal Fees)for Christmas?

And will these also end up pinned to the bottom of best match search results just like those referred to in: https://tamebaynew.wpengine.com/2011/11/how-ebay-are-blacklisting-good-sellers-auctions.html ?
Or not ?

– Was thinking the same thing!
I agree that in principle the free listing days allows people to make a few extra quid to then spend on ebay but surely the buyers who buy then have a few less quid to spend so its of null benefit overall. Another thought would be as opposed to enduring an almost constant stream of 1,3,5,7,10 day auctions have these free auctions as a set duration so only 1 ending day is affected for the actual fee paying community (business or personal)
I have a few bits and bobs in my house i’d like to clear out. The question in my head is whether to use the free listings weekend to get free listings but potentially get worse exposure. Or wait a week or so and pay for the listings and hopefully get better exposure?
