Wednesday evening this week saw around 50 online retailers in London for the latest UK Online Seller Meetup, and yes there was plenty of beer – I snapped a quick picture in case of any doubts 😀
There were talks from Frooition and Linnworks on how to make a great listing. Artem and Fedor from Linnworks showed how to use Terapeak to get the most from your listing titles – Terepeak can tell you which secondary keywords are most searched for in conjunction with your main product title to increase clicks and sales on your listing. Frooition talked about how the quality of your listing and branding can increase sales.
Karl from Frooition was also keen to point out the importance of quality images, and emphasised that plain backgrounds and large images are a pre-requisite these days. If you’re going to use your eBay images on Amazon or your own website you don’t want to have to re-do them and Remove the Background was recommended as a low cost way to clean up hundreds or thousands of images at low cost (from 59p per image).
The next Meetup will be in Birmingham after the first day of Internet Retailing Expo, which is on the 20th-21st March. The location has yet to be confirmed, but there’s going to be a big crowd so make sure you book a hotel before all the rooms go. We know a ton of eBay and Amazon retailers attend Internet Retailing each year so this may well be the biggest Online Reseller Meetup yet.
I’m enjoying the Meetups and intend to go to as many as I can this year – whilst the speakers are generally top notch it’s also great to meet online resellers who attend and there is always lively debate afterwards. Great to meet some new people over a few beers and food… yes we did catch James from iwoca (who organise the Meetups) tucking into the snacks!
Dan and I’ll both be at Internet Retailing on the 20th March in the day and at the Birmingham Meetup in the evening so come along and have a beer with us.
