The Final between Wholesale Clearance and Genie and The Geek
The guys at Wholesale Clearance were so confident that they were going to win that they video’d all their games. Here’s all the action from the final
Awards
As has become customary at the Tamebay Ecommerce Cup some of the teams were kind enough to bring awards for outstanding players.
Onur Bildik, Amazon UK Partner Manager organised the “Amazon A-Z Protection awards. Onur was also playing for the Amazon team and if you were watching the semi-final he was the loudest protester to the referee when the match went to a sudden death penalty shootout. Once the game was over though he was back in the bar and the first to congratulate the other teams.

Best Goal Keeper of the tournament (also selected as player of the tournament) | Stuart From Wholesale Clearance – Kept his team in the game every game! |
Customer Service Champion | Steve for captaining the Seller Dynamics team and coming all the way from Scotland…in time! |
Man of the match for the Final | Chris from Wholesale Clearance – scored 2 in the final |
Outstanding Technical support | Fastway Couriers for providing a goodie bag that contained the essentials of a Snickers bar and Lucozade Sport |
Wholesale Clearance donated the booby prize for the tournament suggesting that they be awarded to the angry person, sending off, missing an open goal, missing the vital penalty in a shootout, tripping over their own feet or someone who is just generally throwing a wobbly!
In the end it was awarded to the company who last year didn’t have enough players to enter a team but managed to “borrow” players from other companies to get a scratch team together on the night. This year they’ve been recruiting and fielded a wobbly team:

Finally Steve from Seller Dynamics not only managed to get a team all the way down from Scotland, but bought a bottle of Scotch along as well.

Organisation | Score Keepers from Genie and the Geek |
There was really only one team that deserved this prize and it was the fantastic non-playing team from Genie and the Geek who kept score, made sure teams were on the pitch when they were needed and generally did all the standing around getting cold but without who the Ecommerce Cup couldn’t take place.
2014 Tamebay Ecommerce Cup
Plans are already in place for the 2014 Tamebay Ecommerce Cup managed by Genie and the Geek so watch out next spring for announcements. It will be an even bigger tournament and is likely to move from it’s weekday evening slot to a weekend daytime event to allow even more teams to enter without taking time off work. Book your place if you think you’ve got what it takes, or of course if you just fancy a great day out socialising with Ecommerce partners.

Love the idea of making it a weekend daytime event in 2014. Would give us a bit more time to loosen up from a long drive (if we drive again) and also gives us a jolly in London without having to rush back to work. Glad to hear that the bottle of Scotch went down well. Thanks again for putting on a great event. Appreciate the Customer Service Champions prize. Everyone in our office is glad that Steve’s smelling like a manly version of J-Lo today!
Oz you are a living legend. You could have been professional footballer.
Well done to all, you can certainly count on Trophies247 to donate the trophy and medals again in 2014
Two of these tournaments per year would be better! A year is far too long to wait:)
Just one question – where do we sign up for 2014? We’ve got a few guys here who reckon they’re up to the challenge!
